Members of the defense committee for detainees at Hirak du Rif, the Bâtonnier Abderrahim Jamai and the lawyers Abdelaziz Nouidi, Asmaa El Ouadii and Mohamed Aghnaj sent a letter of protest to the Minister of Justice. They consider in particular that their clients, Hirak detainees, "have been excluded from the list of people pardoned from prison", despite the criteria set by the Commission created for this purpose, and explained by the Ministry of Justice.
The 4 members of the Hirak du Rif detainees defense committee declare in their letter to Mohamed Benabdelkader that "this treatment is contrary to the rule of law and institutions, and can be described as unfair, discriminatory and selective
They therefore request "to know the justifications which prevented their file from being studied by the Commission", and "an explanation for their non-inclusion on the list of pardoned persons, and the non-access to their medical file".
The latter said, according to the authors of the letter, "that many of them are carriers of diseases that threaten their safety at all times."
"We are ready to meet with you within the limits of your powers, to give you what you may need, from statements or data that show you their right to be treated equally and with respect for their right to health and safety, "they wrote to the minister.
The 4 lawyers also note that the criteria used to pardon a certain number of detainees "come under the choice of the members of the Commission without referring to a text", and that "nobody knows why they were satisfied with these criteria, and n 'have not thought of others, who could be more objective, such as the nature of the files, whether political, press or opinion-based'.
