Saâd-Eddine El Otmani appeared before the deputies of the First Chamber this Monday for the session devoted to monthly oral questions on public policy. He had to respond on the health, economic and social repercussions of the spread of the Coronavirus, and the measures taken to deal with this pandemic.
Saad-Eddine El Otmani declared at the outset that his government "bears its full and entire responsibility to do what is necessary, and to take measures to continue to fight against the Coronavirus".
Defending these measures, he counted more than 350, "taken to manage the pandemic since the beginning of last March", and thinks that the executive apparatus "has reached a certain level of harmony reflected by the intervention of all the actors, supported by an unprecedented national mobilization ”.
In this sense, he welcomed the "spirit of cohesion that animated all of the state stakeholders who left aside small accounts to settle, because the health of citizens and the interest of the country take precedence over everything" .
Saâd-Eddine El Otmani notably defended the idea that "the unprecedented mobilization of all state services has avoided the worst in Morocco".
But he added that the country "lives in a situation, and conditions, without precedent at the international and regional levels", considering that "compared to the human brain, the Coronavirus remains still surrounded by mysteries".
With regard to the desired citizen reactivity, the Head of Government considered that "most of the citizens have shown conscience, discipline and confidence in their institutions", calling for engaging in the fight against the epidemic and to take up the challenge, "so that the country can be lifted from its torpor". He wanted to send "a special greeting to healthcare executives who are on the front line facing the epidemic".
"The king directly oversees the response to the pandemic before the first cases appear in the kingdom," he said.
Beyond the legislative, organizational and logistical arrangements prepared by the government departments concerned, and in particular the Interior, Health, Economy and finance, and Equipment, Saâd-Eddine El Otmani explained that this virus "taught the humility to humanity in the face of divine power, and in front of many surprising events that we live
